Lympstone is a charming and unique village situated along the Exe Estuary with a warm local community and picturesque panoramic views across the surrounding countryside.

Located between the seaside town of Exmouth and the popular village of Exton, Lympstone enjoys a number of coastal walks in either direction and is extremely popular with cyclists and walkers alike.


The village is steeped in local history which is evident in the numerous characterful cottages and architecture around. Many of the properties have an extremely interesting history and form the central section of the village. A lot of the housing is typically traditional cob cottages, many with thatched roofs and noteable character features. The properties in the wider area of Lympstone consist of a variety of housing styles, including individual detached houses, and some more modern bungalows etc. A large section of the homes are located along the estuary itself, and it is a tradition that the residents dry their washing along the shore. This area also features Lympstone sailing club which is a popular hub for local residents.


The heart of the village is home to the Swan Inn, a village store and Susannah's Tea Room, all of which are commonly frequented by locals throughout the year, and are popular spots for tourists. The village also offers a thriving parish church and a number of community events throughout the year.
